First Look: Doo.Ri’s Under.Ligne

Doo.Ri held a preview of her new line in Chelsea last night.
About ten looks from Under.Ligne were revealed to press and buyers – spotted Vogue and Barneys in the crowd – in an open loft buzzing with pre-Fashion Week energy.
The clothes were underwhelming – mostly jersey, mostly draped, sometimes stretched and sometimes stitched in a neutral palette of black, white and grey. A few dresses were awkwardly paired with rhinestone encrusted lace tights. There was a slightly ruffled leather jacket and a killer pair of skin-tight black legging/pants with intricate seams and zippers up the back that we wish we could have now.
Other than that it just got us in the Fashion Week mood – we’re ready to be wowed!

At the same time doesn’t it make you nervous that Fashion Week will not live up to expectations this year, just because they can’t afford it to? I can’t believe my 1st London Fashion Week is the credit crunch fashion week. I guess adversity could force people to be even more creative! I hope so

awkwardly paired jeweled lace tights? i was there last night and was literally drooooling on myself for those jeweled tights- they were phenomenal! even more so because they paired so well with the flat jersey neutrality of the collection.

2 — those tights were awful

its amazing to me how americans put up with this non-sense. If any one thinks this is something to get excited about pls gag me. I sure hope they had good food. These clothes are 1s yr student. I mean Norma Kamali would have her head on a platter. Give me a break. Instead of be ing a fashion darling… why not design?

doo-ri has won awards(2006- cfda & perry ellis) for her slouchy jersey draped dresses. that’s her “thing,” just like dvf’s wrap dress, missoni’s print, a Wang’s “t-shirt,” etc. if it was an A Wang preview, you’d be all over it.
