Hedi + Lindsay = ?

lindsay lohan shot by hedi slimane.jpgIn an incredible collision of a post-fashion photographer and a post-Fashion Week celebrity, Hedi Slimane has taken a series of shots of Lindsay Lohan for, what looks like, just the fun of putting it up on his website.

Past subjects of Hedi’s online fashion diary include Lara Stone, a dog, and too many dirty young things to count.

So why has he suddenly turned his usually model-focused lens onto one of Perez Hilton’s most frequent subjects? (We can’t even get into the question of Lindsay’s appearance.) Could this be the beginning of an opposing exhibit to his celebrated Perfect Strangers tour?

The problem with Lindsay is she wants to be thin and blonde but she looks SO much better when she is fuller and with her natural beautiful red hair colour! She stood out from the rest of the young Hollywood crowd in a good way! I hate to say it but I felt slightly sick looking at these pictures!

Am I the only one feeling that she doesn't look anorexic in those photos? Her arms are thin, but other than that I don't see jutting out ribs or clavicle bones. Has anyone ever seen a REAL anorexic? You would know... and with Lohan, I don't see it... to that point.

I've seen some really sickly looking photos of her recently but I think her body looks great here. Her face always looks soo aged though...

a "real" anorexic is not defined by whether you can see bones or not, guest #5. i personally can't speculate on whether she has an eating disorder or not, which she very well could, but i certainly don't think she looks healthy.

I agree with #9 - theres so many levels of anorexia, but yes i agree with #5 in that she doesn't look like a walking skeleton (i have seen some pretty bad cases). But she is definitely too thin (for her) - she doesnt look naturally skinny, her stomach muscles shouldnt look like that, its not prettily skinny. And unfortunately for Lindsay, when she loses weight it generally makes her face look very haggard very quickly - that combined with her poor diet, smoking, partying, she lookes alot older than she is. All this considered, and because of these factors, I do think the photos look good (lighting, contrats etc) and the ones of her face and more hidden body are the best. I just hope she gets well! Its no life to live.

girlfriends looking skinny here. her stomach has that same anorexic look that fiona apple's did in her music video for criminal. that said, they are pretty sick pictures

at 17, this would have been my dream photoshoot to model in.

yes, she's too thin. it's scary-- but i'm still oddly jealous that her arms are that skinny. (years of gymnastics for me = huge shoulders/triceps).

i love the pictures and it makes me want to wear black nailpolish, put on my sexiest leather coat and smoke a cigarette, a la edie sedgewick style.

i think lindsay looks good... and i don't see the anorexia. she was skinnier before, a la nicole richie skinny.

i think these pictures are gorgeous actually.

but i do agree, her face does look aged.

i love what hedi has done here, afterall, isn't lindsay the epitome of fucked up anorexic youth? i don't understand why people think lindsay is tacky, she is so raw in all her messed-up-ness, it's a real non-chalance that alexa chung or peaches geldof will never achieve. i was getting so sick of hedi's predictable choice of models (androgynous and skinny grunge things), this is like a breath of fresh air.
