Just Cavalli at its End?

kate moss for just cavalli.jpgFact: Ittierre, Just Cavalli’s licensee, recently filed for bankruptcy protection because they ran out of cash.

Fact: Just Cavalli just cancelled their Milan Fashion Week show for next week.

Most likely outcome: Just Cavalli is going out of business?

We don’t know anybody that actually wears Roberto’s subsidiary brand, but more importantly, this would mean less Kate in FOB’s everywhere.

Aw.

Ha, and they only opened that ridiculously tacky flagship for Just Cavalli in fall 2007 (the party for which might have been one of the all time biggest fashion week shitshows ever)

Net a porter stocks a lot of shit. Cavalli whether Just or Roberto is starting to grow hair. I don't wish ill of the even the most banal collections, but it sucks that bankruptcy is the new black. Everybody is wearing it sooner or later.
A lot of people , consumers and the once employed will cry over this even if some of us don't ...and that isn't a good thing.

I'm torn. I'm going to miss seeing Kate photographed in situations that can only be described as absurdly Italian and absurdly 90's (not in the "90s is coming back" way either"...). However, I'M SO HAPPY JC WILL BE NO MORE. I'm sorry, it was hideously overpriced for what it was, their men's clothes were absolutely not for men and, it really had no place/customer this side of Miami/Ibiza. I understand that some companies are filing/have trouble truly due to actual financial problems that weren't being addressed/taken care of when they should have been (Som et al) but when you're attached to a huge name that, advertise in every magazine I've ever seen and have Kate Moss as your spokesperson, you're really pulling out all the stops = your product is irrelevant. The. end.

I agree with guest #3. Eventhough I did not like the brand, and only saw the women of the Real Housewives of Orange County wearing the clothes...it still a shame to see more and more fashion labels suffering. However, I do think that the brand didn't have long lasting appeal.
