Fashion Is Fun

Subject: “You Have to Watch This…”

Hi!

Hope all is well and you survived Fashion Week!

Anyway, I just finished watching the premiere episode of Running in Heels on the Style Network’s website and thought I’d pass it on. I honestly think it’s worse than Stylista, the editors make it completely evident that it’s fake. And the number of Michael Kors references can only mean that he’s a sponsor. Or Nina Garcia just wants to suck up to him, still. Joanna is really funny and the interns are completely not with it.

Let me know what you think! Enjoy, haha.

xx

Best Line: “There’s so much buzz about her joining in the industry, I really want to be able to exploit it.” - Joanna Coles, Marie Claire’s EIC, on Nina Garcia.

Talita looks like she's had collagen shots in her lips... Especially her top lip.

I like how Samantha thinks she's a perfect fit for the job, even though she knows nothing about fashion magazines. Infuriating.

Drama Drama Drama...It was nice to watch though. They might be the most fabulous in their LITTLE H.S. but here either you get with it or get out!!!

NEW YORK STATE OF MIND!

It's unfortunate how Ashley has her nose stuck so far up her ass she can't see that all she really contributes is bitching and moaning. Her lack of ambition to succeed in the tasks shes given is MORE than infuriating, not to mention disrespectful. If shes got so much experience why is she still in the internship stage?

Seems to me that although Samantha may not have the fashion credentials under her belt shes the only one that's got enough sense to know what goes around comes around. The crying has GOT to stop though.

All of these girls need to woman up, and get checked into reality. Stop crying and get to work.

Dude, this is so beyond fake! they're all new to new york, but living all together in Soho in a huge apt that one of them "found on the internet" and are actually talking to the big guys? Maybe the producers should've had a consulting intern to figure out what actually goes on. This is clearly all about Marie Claire wanting to get into 'reality tv' like Elle. Sooo fake!

ahhhh this reminds me of a horrible version of the fashionista diaries, which i miss terribly!
yea i love how samantha has no fashion experience but becomes an intern at marie claire....smart.
I just realized this was an hour long, my eyes are burning...
and the chick with blonde hair...i kinda hated her dress she wore to the r&r show.
...but i'll still probably watch this as a guilty pleasure much like i do for "the city"
why the eff do they all live in the same apartment? LAME

Guest Five -- While, obviously, some elements of the show are contrived, it's actually much more realistic than the Elle show. Sure their living situation is a little suspect and their contact with Joanna is a little laughable, but a lot of the errands that they're running are really true to form.

I love that they filmed in the real Marie Claire offices. The workings of the office are pretty much as I remember it being when I was there, mess and all... except Zoe isn't wearing her glasses all the time and Joanna has a new desk. The desks are still messy, the interns are still incompetent.

Also, Oh Hi Abby!

guest 10: I got the initial interview call for this as well. the person doing the interviewing me kept asking if i had issues with my parents and if they would be upset if i went on and did this. umm hello who cares about my parents.

worked at Marie Claire on the marketing side for 6 months and quit. I have to say its SOOOO laughable. the interns? I cant even imagine them being able to really drink at a party. I did event planning and we were mandated not to drink at events ever. Also 9 AM to work? Joke, we had to be at our desks at 8:30 or we got in trouble. Joanna seems nice, its interesting to see nina STILL portrayed in a positive light when she is a total bitch. Also Interns would never be given so much responsibilty. Guilty pleasure? Hell yeah I am totally going to watch ach week, if only to giggle at how badly susan plagemann the publisher STILL dresses.

JasmineLaRa:

I agree. I laughed when "she" said "I look like a boy in this!"...

She looks and sounds like a boy FULL STOP. I think Ong from Paris's reality show looks and sounds MORE like a girl than this person!
