Lydia Gets a Magazine

Monday, Mar 2, 2009 / 2:13 PM

lydia hearst for femmes 2.jpgEven though Lydia Hearst is the face of Myla and Pringle of Scotland (she has an exclusive to walk for them in Milan as well as another show in Madrid), and has modeled for French Plaboy‘s cover as well as a couple European Vogues, people still tend to smirk whenever she’s listed as “model”. So we wonder if this news will have any affect on doubters everywhere:
The French magazine Femmes is relaunching in March. In celebration, they’ve used Lydia as the one and only model (forty pages) and have even included a six-page article on her and her family.
Please, check out a few of the images and help us decide whether Lydia’s a “real” model or not. In the mean time, we’ll just wonder how she could have seriously been missing from the Barbie show.

Its time to let go, the girl has been on covers of Vogue Italia shot by Meisel so um ya, she is as much a model as any other one out there.

Lydia didn’t walk Pringle.

Yes she is a model…but i still dislike her.
Kinda sad that they are using her and her family to generate publicity for their mag, its not like that many people care…

just because shes a rich heiress doesn’t mean people should just assume she’s like paris. she’s been on vogue for gods sake, she’s a model.

There’s no denying she’s a model, everyone is a model/designer/whatever they want to be these days, but she’s just not a very good model.
This editorial is really terrible though, I was going to say from the thumbnails that the last picture is the worst, but on closer inspection they’re all as bad as each other.
I don’t understand, do people actually seek her out to book her? Or does she just have really pushy management?

People book her. She has an amazing body and interesting face. She’s short, but there’s an appeal. Of course good management helps, but that’s not the ONLY reason why she works.

She’s a model. Give her a break. I think vogue and all those campaigns definitely prove she isn’t like paris and is a serious fashion model. I checked out the femmes site, there’s a great interview there and a preview of all the images. I actually really like her look, even though she is short.

I adore her eyebrows.

Nope. Her expressions are indefinite, her poses simultaneously stiff and uncertain. In the picture with the blue dress, she could have elongated her neck so as to make herself look more “posed.” I don’t find anything particularly captivating about her in any of the shots. She’s attractive with a nice body, but she needs some definite improvement.
