The Shoe Angel

Hi Britt & Natalie,

I’m a freelance stylist looking to rid of about twenty pairs of shoes. They’re in mint condition, straight from this season’s runways and presentations. There are custom Manolo sandals and booties and Louboutin styles include the Peniche, Miss Golf, Defil, Lapino ankle booties and Rolandos. They range in size from 37.5 to 41.5 and in price from $250 to $375 with the over-the-knee black Manolo boots going for $500.

I’m doing an open to the public sale at my apartment and was wondering if you know anyone who might be interested. They can email me for more information/the address.

Thanks!
ShoeStylista

This is not a joke. That’s her real email address above. Have a blast and hope you run into LSD on the street.

wow, classy. sorry but the prices are steep considering, um, you got them for free.

agreed. shoes really need to be $200 and under for me to buy right now. i don't care what they initially cost - they were initially overpriced, and we are in a fucking recession...

I wonder how those designers would feel if they knew the shoe angel was selling their samples for profit....

Totally sketchy behaviour on her part. "Fresh off the runway?" I doubt the designers approve. Oh well, sucks for their press office

they're not samples, you twits, and they weren't free. they were custom made and purchased for use in the show. now the designer is trying to cut their losses by reselling them. not shady at all...smart, even.

oh hi, shoe angel, a.k.a. guest @ 2:52. isn't the STYLIST selling them, not the designer? i doubt that Christian or Manolo will be on hand to recoup the losses. plus, having a "public sale" at your apartment is just sketchy.

Manolo and Louboutin sell their shoes to designers to use in their fashion shows. Then the designers sell them in sample sales, gift them, etc etc etc. If you don't want them, don't buy them!

haha- i'm the shoe angel... but that wasn't my comment before-

silly how worked up everyone is getting

i worked for a designer (that didn't want his name in the email)

we paid for the shoes (as a company) and now that our runway presentations is finished we need to sell them to try and make back some of the money to get new designs for our spring 2010... just trying to do something nice for people who love custom shoes!

wish you all the best- sorry the prices are steep (but we paid more...) hope those of you who want them can come!

BEST,
shoe angel :]

not sure what everyone is upset about. designers resell all the time and usually at a fraction of what they paid to make some of their event expenditures back.

To the shoe angel: If you're reading this, I e-mailed you very shortly after this post went up yesterday and have yet to hear back (first name Regina). I'll be in New York tomorrow and am VERY interested in the Rolandos. Please let me know if they're still available and in what size. Thanks!

this is hilarious--all the conspiracy theories about a stylist selling off samples!!

do you realize how implausible that is? first, there are editorial loan agreements between magazines/stylists and PR companies. There is no way, if these were indeed samples, that they could be sold and go unaccounted for. If they weren't returned, PR people would go sniffing around...and while it DOES happen on occasion that a pair of pants, a dress, whatever goes missing, NO ONE would buy 20 pairs going MIA.

secondly, if this were to happen and the stylist was caught, goodbye career! instant blacklisting across the board. it's career suicide, and you'd have to be an idiot to try. eg former vogue beauty asst. calling in products for a fake shoot to sell on ebay. fired instantly, banned from conde nast forever.

not a stylist- assistant designer for a company and just wanted to remain anonymous

we paid for every pair of shoes being sold today.

they were all for our runway.

I think the sale is completely legit. I would do the same thing if I was the stylist/designer. Those of you moaning and groaning about the motives need to relax.

The Original Post would have been a whole lot better if it had at least mentioned the City name...
