Behati sounds like so much fun!
And it's Sims and Demarchelier who are responsible for the endless Vogue jumps... not Meisel! Haha

thanks for the great post. i enjoyed reading it.
so sorry to hear about what happened to jamie - hope he is healing okay physically and emotionally.
one beef i have though with behati saying that stylists on editorial shoots are "uptight". usually, the team of the photographer, stylist and magazine art director have been researching the shoot for quite a while and will be doing post production work after the shoot day(s) - so the photographer and art director in addition to the stylist can be quite uptight/demanding. prop stylist too. sometimes the hair & makeup will also be involved beyond the shoot day. with your name (and reputation as a freelancer) being associated to editorials (since it does affect your day rate) it is a very serious shoot - but at the same time should also be fun. and nowadays a lot of magazines don't have enough budget (or any at all) to cover expenses so you end up spending quite a bit of money out of pocket to fund these shoots. if it hadn't been for these people being "uptight" behati's editorials would not have been as great as they were/are. and that editorial portfolio greatly affects her ability to get contract work and other commercial work at a certain rate.
believe me, as a stylist i also love working on catalog jobs where it is easier with wardrobe and the pay actually exists(!) you still have to work hard and please your client to try and get a return gig. but the fact that your name isn't attached to it (unlike editorials and high fashion campaigns) one can relax a bit on the image making process.
behati - i know you'll read this so let me know that you were misquoted there. or didn't get a chance to say more on the topic.
britt - please do a post also on really new models to show what the process is like. that part of a model's life can be really tough when they are still really young and just getting used to working in an adult world and dealing with rejection, etc. it would be nice to see how modelling isn't glamourous all the time.

Excellent stuff. Guest 17, agreed, although Behati is just talking about the experience from her POV.

hi sorry about the comment about editorials i did not mean it like that at all, i know what youre saying about the difference between editorials and commercial stuff. just that its more relaxed sometimes with the commercial stuff, but i would not be where im am if i didnt and still doing amazing editorials, and i do love shooting them its very creative and fun as well!!! sorry about that....
