Lily’s Beauty Ads Out

lily cole for rimmel.jpgLily Cole’s ads for Rimmel, which were announced almost a year ago, have finally hit Rimmel.com.

She poses with her mouth just parted, her hair in the wind, and each and every one of her freckles airbrushed out of existence.

As much as we love a great NSFW editorial with Ms. Cole, this beauty bot shot doesn’t sit quite right.

PS Does anyone else think freckles are completely adorable?!

i agree... the freckles are a loss, here. i have similar coloring and i've gotten more compliments throughout my life on my freckles than on anything else. lily-white (no pun intended, but i'll leave it in) skin is gorgeous, but a sprinkle of pretty freckles definitely makes people look twice.

Oh yeah, because obvious "we airbrushed the hell out of her skin" ads really make me want to buy foundation.

Aren't pictures supposed to at least pretend the product does what is shown in them? Because I don't think there's a macbook pro and a computer science degree in that little bottle.

I love freckles, but being hispanic has prohibited me from ever having them.
Whoever has them is pretty lucky.

I think she looks really old in that pictures...

Unfortunately she just isn't a beauty model. I think her quirkly beauty works best for editorials in magazines.

I agree both that I miss the freckles and that she is better in editorial shots.

i have freckles and i hate them, you cant hide them and they just ruin your face. I'm so self concious of them. i don't even go to the beach in summer because i dread the thought of getting more. i guess when you dont have them you want them. but please, if you have clear beautiful skin then be thankful you dont have ugly dots ruining your face.

I'm Hawaiian, Japanese, Caucasian and I have freckles galore. I hate them. It's hard to wear makeup because if they're covered then I don't look like me.

YES!!
I have freckles, and I hate when they get covered up, but I've always thought of it as a little weird, as all my friends who have freckles absolutely hate them. Also, I think models look so much better with freckles, as they actually resemble humans.
I love Lily, but she doesn't look doll-faced in this, she just looks plastic.
