Buy, Buy, Baby

A Hat Tip

mini boater hat.jpgWe have trouble with hats - the only one we’ve successfully worn was a straw fedora bought on the side of the road in far northern California.

They can be hard to fit and hard to wear appropriately on multiple occasions.

But this mini-boater by Chapeau Claudette is the most perfect little head topper we’ve ever seen. Before you say it’s impractical, please note that the best hats always are. And in America circa now there are few events at which one can wear a truly spectacular, feathered chapeau.

This, however, is perfect with jeans and a t-shirt, with a romper, with a sun dress, with your hair up or down and it’s bound to start a conversation or two.

Now if spring would just actually get here, we’d be set.

It seems perfect if you're planning to attend a tea party in Alice's Wonderland.

That hat is so silly looking. I really hope you wouldn't consider wearing something so goofy looking.

i feel like such hats can not be taken seriously no matter who is wearing them. if your looking for a small hat this is DEF NOT the way to go, unless you are trying to look like a circus freak. better off trying out something like a fascinator if you want a small headpiece. they are much more tasteful. i have been reading a lot about a brand i love factory bk which has an exquisite selection of pieces in their collections. just a thought.

i agree with everyone else, that hat may have a specific time and place i could wear it, but otherwise i would feel silly in it.
i'm going to be going to be doing my interpretation of the men's Lanvin s/s 09 hat this summer.

...if you don't mind looking like you're wearing your American Girl doll's hat, that is.

Wait, aren't hats suppose to do something?

But I guess it could be one of those accessorizing hats.. I'd still feel like a monkey though.

I don't get it. Is the girl in the photo about to ask us to "step right up, git your tickets to see the bearded lady right inside! 5 cents".. weird. Yea no I can't imagine putting that tiny hat on my head. Has anyone ever heard of a brand I Love Factory? They make beautiful head pieces that ACTually flatter a lady.

No. Just ... no. Have we learned nothing from Kenley and Little J? Nothing screams "trying way too hard" like a tiny, tiny hat perched at a jaunty angle.

I love hats and I wish I could wear them more often! My favorite hat designer, whom I am friends with - Tracy Watts. She designs for a lot of celebs including Brit Spears and Madonna.

Check her out! all made in Brooklyn, NY

Fashion is Spinach wrote about this, too, and instead of paying the $48 for this particular hat, she bought a doll's hat on eBay, which she'll wear in the same way. Kinda neat
