Streetwalker: Sweet Sixteen

harem panted paris streetwalker.jpgName: James, 16, student

Got Her: In the Marais, vintage shopping with her boyfriend.

Stalked her: Her knee length harem shorts and short cowboy boots made for a surprisingly put together look.

Shot her: Because we’d have given an arm and a leg to be so well dressed at sixteen. Now we’d just give an arm.

She said: “My pants are Chloe, but you’ll usually find me wearing dresses.”

We said: We think you’re Chloe’s dream girl.

I just accessed the whatisthenewblack.tv site and it basically has a bunch of clothing items that you can dress a model with. I'm not sure as to if it is a new show, no details were listed. And I wish I had such cute outfits as sixteen, lol

Sorry but those pants are DEEPLY unflattering. They make her look both hippy and like she has male genitalia. Not good.

Sorry, your Streetwalker posts are driving me a bit crazy, and now I think i know why. The backgrounds are too busy.
I'm not hating, I just find myself being really distracted by everything going on behind your subject. JMO.

I didn't even know what Chloe WAS when I was 16, let alone have the money to afford it. I thought fashion was going to Urban Outfitters (sale section only) and H&M when I went to cities that had them and stocking up on costume jewelry and super bright shirts of all kinds. Which I would proceed to wear with my Mudd/Silver/TJMaxx jeans and discounted Pumas. Either that or I would wear funny "vintage" tees from Salvation Army.

what i do think it's that fashion is not a matter of famous and expensive brands (like Chloe or whatever other brands) but it's about how we're gonna put any clothes from anywhere together.
so i believe that fashion can also mean going to H&M /topshop/prada/chanel/tesco?/...

(and what i see it's that, nowadays, teenagers are so obsessed by brands that they would kill to get a pair of MiuMiu shoes... and i'm not kidding!)

(btw, i agree with the fact that the background's too busy... all my attention is on the shoes behind her and not on her style)

Its not that the background is too busy, but that it is too in focus. I'm not sure what kind of camera you are using, but it would really help if you turned the aperture setting way down ( i.e. 2 or 1.8) and the shutter way up (500 to 2000) --or if the camera is a point-and-shoot, there are usually still options to turn it (if not to manual) to portrait mode. This way you will have a nice blurred background (shallow depth of field) and a super crisp streetwalker
