impressive reference #1. Loooved his work at Callaghan.
Nothing is original. The contemporary market's business is based on trickle down trends. Also, Thakoon doesn't design 100% of his own prints. He picks from the same pool as every other designer and many times there are variations on similar designs.

Has Fashionista investigated whether Thakoon has copyrighted, designed, or currently owns the prints used? Most designer don't design their own patterns (ha, most designers don't even really design, let's get right down to it.) I think Fashionista should get facts before they allege these types of things that can start lawsuits, you know?

PLEASE- Lauren's has cobalt blue, not navy; the sleeves on Lauren's is enough to change the look entirely; I believe the length of Lauren's is shorter; there are white beads all over Lauren's, and the waistband on Lauren's is a different color, width, and in a different placement than Thankoons!

They are different. I would not look at the two and think Lauren Moffat knocked the stripe off. I think the little Vogue intern needs a bit more mentoring before she accuses designers of such an offensive act. I'm a 10 year vet in the industry and coincidental similarities do happen sometimes if something is on trend- much like that color blue and stripes this season. Of course, one would only hope a Vogue intern would know the definition of "trend".... Anna needs to have a chat with someone.

which were already reminiscent of Nicholas Ghesquiere's CALLAGHAN stripes....
