Trendspotting: Bite Me

fangs fangs everywhere.jpgWe’ve avoided Twilight madness (though has anyone else noticed that one of the girls from the movie is in the Terry Richardson-shot ads for Belvedere Vodka?), but we’ve started to notice an influx of actual fangs in fashion.

Models, both male and female, rock pointy front teeth in Karen Walker’s newest lookbook and they’re underneath all the red lipstick in Wildfox’s lookbook. We’ve noticed vampire-themed editorials full of fangs ranging from Vogue Italia to Cosmo, too. And Alison Mosshart wears a particularly violent pair in The Kills’ Black Balloon video.

They managed to miss the runways this season, but are they something you’d actually wear?

you don't always have to finish off trendspotting posts with " is this something you'd actually wear "

No way. The whole fang thing went out with the goth thing..in the 90's, and even then it was bizaar and not fashionable...But...where can I find that beautiful shade of Red lipstick?

while the "britt sucks" part is juvenile and unnecessary, I do agree that the "is this something you would wear" part of trendspotting posts is tiresome...are you guys that desperate for comments??

Wait are you talking about the girl with the red hair from the Belvedere/terry adds?

I think her name is Nicole La Liberte, and I don't think she was in Twilight?

Poor Britt, all you girls are always ready to criticize. Be ready to anticipate long hair, tie dye, bell bottoms and most importantly, free love when Ang Lee's "Taking Woodstock" comes out.

Well i think the fangs in those pictures are actually really cute! and whether or not i would actually wear them (i think its a very appropriate question and i enjoy these discussions) i have no idea where i would find any that look somewhat good anyways.

Who would actually wear faux fangs?! Im imagining a total trend-bot in head-to-toe runway looks with some fancy faux fangs. Uhhhhhh NO! lol

well, though my dentist tried to shave them down when I was about twelve, my incisors are unmistakably fang-ish, so I don't really have much of a choice but to 'wear them' proud
