Quote of the Day

“Jane felt her blood freeze. Fiona never called Jane into her office unless she was in trouble. It was always something like, ‘Jane, the last time I checked, ivory and eggshell weren’t the same color,’ or ‘Jane, is this message from Jeffrey with a J or Geoffrey with a G?’ What had she done this time? Either way, she preferred that her humiliating lectures take place in private—just her and Fiona behind closed doors. Guess not today. She frowned at the cameras, which were supposed to be capturing “an average workday.” Well, now, the L.A. Candy viewers are going to see my average butt getting yelled at, Jane thought.” —From Lauren Conrad’s new book, LA Candy, on Teen Vogue.

It's a given that Lauren Conrad would be a crappy writer... but hasn't her editor even tried to make this sound just a little bit better?

Perhaps my command of the english language is failing me, but shouldn't it be "just she and fiona," not "her and fiona?"

Is it? Because I absolutely refuse to believe it.

LA Candy has to be the most inappropriate title for a book. The title LA Candy triggers in my mind coke and pills. Good work team!

guest 12, there is nothing wrong with the grammar.

this looks like it will be a very witty and candid look behind closed doors of the fashion industry... much like 'the devil wears prada'... which was also unbearable to read.

This must be a children's book. "butt" was used instead of the more appropriate "a**".

If I was getting in trouble, there's no way I'd be censoring my thoughts.

This is pathetic.

and darcykins... Lauren weisberger is an incredible writer who became famous because she's actually talented and intelligent, not because she knows how to create drama. don't even begin to compare the devil wears prada to this ridiculous book

the devil wears prada sucks in my opinion. not worth reading. i found it to be comparable to books in the young adults section of the bookstore. absolute twaddle.
maybe i just have higher literary standards than guest 32.

Once again I find myself agreeing with darcykins.
And I really didn't find devil wears prada that enjoyable to read though, guest 34.
I really don't even have anything to say about 'LC' and her feeble attempt to suck money out of the American economy that she doesn't even need.

oh yes darcykins... you SO have higher literary standards... especially because you're backing up lauren conrad's book.

i'm not saying lauren weisberger is henry miller here... but she's sure as hell a better writer than LC and earned it.

guest #36... I'm pretty sure darcykins WAS NOT backing up LC's book. If you read what she wrote, she's says it will be unbearable to read.
