Nailed It

dream nails.jpgLast night we got a sneak peek at the fall collection of nail polishes from MAC and let us just say that we’re certain we’ve never been this excited about painting our nails.

The collection is a collaboration with editorial nail guru, Jin Soon Choi. This is a woman who refers to Steven Meisel as “my man” and has also shot with Irving Penn, Annie Leibovitz, Craig McDean, and Michael Thompson.

Now, we’ve been sworn to secrecy for the moment (that’s not one of the colors in the photo), but promise you will not be disappointed when we can finally reveal the delicious shades. They’re edgy, editorial and incredibly chic.

what's the point of writing this if you can't reveal the colors?

i would be excited if the nail polish didn't contain the three most dangerous chemicals-tolene, formaldehyde, and the third which i believe starts with a d.....too tired to look up. i really want those natural nail polish companies to make great colors

@9-

Just toss a layer of clear gloss over it and voila. Your manicure lasts longer and the matte problem is solved.

If this is really about freaking matte nail polish, before Fashionista starts going apeshit over Jin Soon Choi and MAC, maybe you should know about the amazing Mike Potter, the man responsible for Hedwig's hair and makeup, as well as ... matte nail polish.

It's been out for a year already.

If it's not about matte nail polish, my apologies.

#8, Jared Leto wears nail polish.

And I did find this somewhat useful because I use my GF's black polish to do touch-up on the scratches and nics on my motorcycle.

Wow, thanks for the info. Or lack thereof...

Regarding matte polishes, there are a few different brands: Manglaze, KO (knockout) and Zoya's Fall 09 collection.

There are also numerous matte top coats you can put over any nail polish to create the same effect.

The overuse of the word "editorial" in recent posts (Abby's, specifically) has piqued my curiosity -- what exactly makes a nail guru or a nail polish "editorial"?
