Mid-Day Snack

Mid-Day Snack

anja rubik for vogue nippon beauty.jpgFor Sure: Anja’s on the cover of Vogue Nippon’s beauty issue and Daily Feed thinks it’s time the girl landed a cosmetics contract. Um, yes. {Models}

Ah!: The thirteen-year-old girl inside me is dying over No Doubt’s performance on The Today Show this morning. The twenty-four-year old is loving the Balmain (I think) Current/Elliott jeans Gwen’s rocking. {NBC}

Oh Boy: Alexander Wang’s up for GAP. Meanwhile, will the sun please just fucking shine already so we can break out our almost vintage Rodarte for Gap? {TeenVogue}

Bubbles Away: Stephen Jones has built a hat for Perrier-Jouët. The bespoke anemone hat comes inside a white leather champagne hat box for a mere £5,000. {LOVE}

OK Seriously: Everything you could possibly need to know about Monday’s Met Extravaganza. Here’s hoping it doesn’t rain. {FWD}

Modern Luxury: Ever wonder how Gilt Groupe works? Here’s an look inside their Brooklyn warehouse. {WSJ}

Pour Martha: Francisco Costa made generous capirinhas on Martha Stewarts show this morning. Is it too early to test his recipe? {NYMag}

Saw Anja eating a salad one day at Dean&Deluca; she's my favorite.

Gwen's polo is Fred Perry by Raf Simons and her jeans is RAF by Raf Simons or RAF SIMONS or Jil Sander by Raf Simons.

Raf's has the marble print and without the holes whereas Christophe's has more of the splattered paint effect. If I'm wrong, someone please research; I would like a pair.

I love the Oh Boy post-I am at that point, too! EVERY day I wake up (in Chicago) and it's another gray day. WTF? I want sun! I want warm! I don't want it to go from rainy blah to unbearable heat; I just want a nice, balmy month. Is that too much to ask??? (Totally rhetorical! I realize nobody can do anything about it!) Here's to sunny weather hopefully soon! :)

#5, if it wasn't for the 11 months of winter and 1 month of summer, Chicago would be a perfect city. Oh how I miss the frantic landscape on the weekends at North/Damen/Milwaukee.

Chicago IS the perfect city. And 11-1? Um, have you ever even lived in Chicago??

Love Anja too, but whoever did the makeup for this cover didn't exactly do her good. Damn.

I'm crazy about Gwen's jeans too!

It'll be interesting to see what Alexander Wang comes up with for Gap. I'm not a huge fan of khaki, but we'll see.

Guest #7, Yes, got my MBA in the windy city. And I was exaggerating about the 11-1 so chill out. If Chicago was the perfect city, there wouldn't be 8+ million in NYC.

Ha. You commenters are silly. So since Mexico City and Lagos, Nigeria both have 8+ million are they also perfect cities?

I like both NYC and Chicago (and lived in both cities for years), but I have to say that half of those 8 million delusional wannabes living in NYC actually make it a worse place to live than the Chi... Just sayin.
