Mid-Day Snack

beth and natalia duke it out.jpgUrban Scoops: Lizzie Fortunato’s working on a collaboration with Urban Outfitters, a role previously held by Bing Bang’s Anna Sheffield. It’ll be called Hope Marian and her jewels’ll look swell with Lark & Wolf’s striped tanks for summer. {TeenVogue}

Sneaking Suspicion: Natalia Vodianova for Vogue UK looks very similar, and yet so different, from Beth Ditto’s inaugural LOVE cover. {CatwalkQueen}

Love & Tears: The Moment takes a look back at one of Naomi Campbell’s bravest moments - up until her Met protest, at least. We’re sure she’s thrilled this is hitting the internet again. {NYTimes}

Model-mania: Just in case you need an up close and personal look at what the favorite models wore Monday night - legs ruled. {WWWD}

Up Close: A minute with Elle’s creative director, Joe Zee. He likes beaches, sugar-free Redbull, hotel gift shops, Gap and Gucci. {Starworks}

Hot Tunes: Nylon’s music tour has music, obviously, but it also has Burberry & Cavalli models. {Nylon}

That front cover of love with Beth Ditto on still haunts me, one of the worst front covers ever.

#3 Anything to do with Beth Ditto being overexposed in more ways than one is a BAD decision.

oh come on guys, admit that you're just trained by society to dislike any type of physical display of fat people.

i'm not a big fan of LOVE but i'm happy to see Beth Ditto exposed. If I say it is refreshing to see someone without normal model proportions modeling everyone will say 'it's been done' or that it is just for shock value but how often do you actually see heavier woman on fashion magazine covers?
not enough if you ask me.

beth looks great. it honostly makes me sad to know that people judge others for something that they feel "isn't in". thinking that way will come back at you and bite you in the ass one day.

Like most models, Ditto is on one end of spectrum. I am not impressed.

Actually guys its nothing to do with her weight, its more to do with her she just annoys the hell out me! I hate the way people just assume a person would be disliked because she is overweight. I think the cover is terrible overall because she is on the front and because of the graphics!

Beth Ditto wasn't the problem with Love's cover.
Their list of "icons" was.

Heck, I don't want to see _any_ naked models, quite frankly. I mean, why? Honestly? Pro tip: to be a fashion icon, wear clothes. Keep a little mystery.

I actually find ditto's cover hynotic,,, you dont find women of that size posing for covers...from an artistic view kind of interesting. would i want to look like that no. would i knock someone else for looking like that or wanting to look like that no.

I agree with number 9 and 13! Why would someone be naked on the cover of a fashion mag? its literally the absence of fashion. I just dont like looking at naked women and i dont know why any women would.

I agree 16. Mystery is much sexier than over-exposure.

what a bunch of prudes. why shouldn't a woman enjoy looking at another naked woman.
guest 16, you come off as rather homophobic to me.
our skin is something we wear everyday and i think being naked is just as much of a fashion statement as anything.
have we not all seen pret-a-porter?

p.s i'm not heartless. i'm full of love.

i enjoy looking at nude women. and i am a woman. i don't think there is anything wrong with displaying nudity in a tasteful manner, whatsoever! (yes, i am European)
That being said,
looking at overweight nudes of be it males or females, makes me want to vomit a little. just as looking at nude anorexic flesh makes me want to do the same.
Can we just have more of the "normal"? I don't mind curves but i really don't need to see anyone's "rolls". sorry.
