Mid-Day Snack

annawintourandalt.jpgTalking Cats: Mad-libs with Catherine Holstein. She loves cut-offs as much as we do, all things purple, dogs and shoes. {Glamour}

Twittered: In case you missed it, here’s a tweet by tweet account of Anna Wintour’s 92Y talk last night. It started with Peta and ended with Andre’s blogging. {NYMag}

Dig Deep: Ali from The City gets questioned. She really likes Splenda and scented candles and ended up on the show after Adam was cast. {Nylon}

Suzy Says: Suzy Menkes took a trip to SF. Alas, she doesn’t have time for tweets. {FabSugar}

Happy Valentine’s Day: Designers Swaim and Christina Hutson, of Obedient Sons & Daughters fame, welcomed their second child Valentine on Saturday. Mazel. {FWD}

Mall Fashion: LA’s outdoor shopping venue, The Grove, is hosting a series of open to the public fashion shows starting tomorrow. Way less inconvenient than trekking to Smashbox. {Style}

So I was one of the very un-lucky people to attend the lecture and I have to say, it was a complete bore! The most exciting part was the very beginning, when PETA "attacked!"

The interview itself felt VERY practiced and scripted, as if she knew which questions she had to answer (except for the audience ones). And none of the information that was passed around was anything new - only the little tidbit about an exciting project with the Mayor and City of New York that will be revealed next week - my guess would be the Garment District? Although it could also be regarding the Lincoln Center Fashion Shows.

The interview ended thirty-five minutes early - to my relief.

And lastly, to the woman who wore that Balmain jacket to the event - what were you thinking? It's a LECTURE at the 92Y, not a fashion event.

I was there as well and agree with your comments. It was though what I expected. Anna was not going to "open up" she operates like a skilled politician.

The PETA thing was obnoxious and a bit embarassing but she handled that well.

The only Vogue people I saw were Stephanie Winston Wolkoff and Anna's assistant.

I thought it was interesting when she was asked what drives her that the only thing she could come up with is excellence. It would have been nice if there was actual depth to the conversation.

Hahaa, ditto to the woman in Balmain!
