Fashion Is Fun

Our House

whcd03.jpgObviously, we don’t think we’re alone in loving that President Obama is pretty much the hippest guy to hold his position, well, ever.

But we’re quite sure we’ll never tire of examples of this.

Like the fact that the guest list at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner now includes people like Chace and Ed, Jason Wu, Donatella and so many others from our little world.

And of course, the guests are all looking their chicest to impress the first fam and the fashion press, who have taken coverage of MObama’s sartorial choices to an almost stalker-ish level. Not that we have a problem with that.

With Gossip Girl and fashion designers in the mix, it is really starting to feel like “our” White House, too.

Well this is Donatella's second Correspondents' dinner and they have always had a lot of actors attend so not sure why this would be any different than the other Correspondents' dinner for you other than possibly Jason Wu's appearance.

I think it is ridiculous that these celebrities attend the White House Correspondents Dinner. It is for journalists. Fine, invite big donors, but you are not going to convince me that Ed Westwick was a big donor.

I totally agree with you, 2. I think it's inappropriate and kind of weird. It's the worst side of American culture.

Also Donatella looked like a deflated leather sack. Although Jonathan Rhys Meyers looked hot.

To be fair, the "big donors" are probably also attracted by the presence of celebrities. They all feed off the publicity together. And some of the celebrities are there to bring attention to the legit causes that they support. Also, don't fashionistas care about health care, the economy, and other public policy issues?

the purpose of the dinner is to raise money for scholarships and give out various awards. some celebrities are probably donors/activists and i'm sure some teenage girl out there convinced her parents to donate a lot of money to make sure chuck is at her table lol.
