The Fashion Show Show

Watching this two minute clip of The Fashion Show’s first runway presentation felt like one of those Spot the Difference cartoons we used to love in Highlights.

The Fashion Show differs from Project Runway

1. The runway is triangular.
2. There are lots of people in the audience, not just the judges.
3. Stila has major product placement.

The Fashion Show is the same as Project Runway

1. One designer says, “I don’t need the money, I don’t need the fame, I just want to see people in my clothes,” the other says hes from, “the hood” and the other has Christian’s haircut & thick black glasses.
2. They live high up in an ultra-modern New York apartment.
3. Tresemme is everywhere.

We’d call a draw, but as a general rule, anything with Isaac Mizrahi wins.

I'm loving the fact that there are so many established designers featured on the show. Looks very exciting!

I was disappointed when I found out that Project Runway was no longer going to show on Bravo and that they were going to be replaced with another fashion show (no pun intended). I don't know if I'm too keen on having Kelly Rowland as the co-host, but I am loving that Isaac Mizrahi is on board. I haven't seen any clips online yet, but I think I will wait until the premiere on Thursday. Hopefully it's just as good as Project Runway and the designers are talented and fun to watch!

Isaac Mizrunway is the most self promoted designer with the least humility on the planet. Isaac is the new black. Worn out, over exposed, and worst of all totally predictable, just like the regrettable show Project Runway they are aping. Isaac used to mean something. He is a great designer but he traded in his talent artistically for one less quantifiable:the cult of Personality. That is a risk that may soon show it's limitations. His talk show was bullshit and this show with it's wannabe "designers" is just a further example. Look at his choice of co-host. Second rate, just like the concept: sloppy seconds.
