Like a Rolling Stone

Ronnie-Wood-in-studio.jpg.jpegThere has been much discussion here on the site about the role that celebrities play or should play in fashion collaborations. Sometimes they seem obvious plays for press, and other times they seem interesting, if odd or unexpected.

Which is kind of how we feel about Ronnie Wood, fashion designer. The Rolling Stone is teaming up with Liberty of London for a collection of accessories, dresses, t-shirts inspired by and using the rocker’s paintings.

The company is known to work frequently with artists, but we’re not sure about spending close to $300 (and up to $3300 for a hand painted leather bag) for a little piece of Ronnie Wood that doesn’t involve him being anywhere near a guitar, with Mick on vocals.

But, then again, maybe we’re just feeling collaboration fatigue.

It's not fair to discredit him as an artist just because he's also a musician. At least the nature of this collaboration isn't just physically appearing in ads or as "the face." It looks as though his work will actually be featured or incorporated into the clothing. Seems fair enough.

You can say what you want about Ronnie Wood (alcoholic, adulterer to name a few) but his style is always interesting, rock and roll and creative. I look forward to this collaboration.

I agree with the writer. Collaboration fatigue indeed, soon we'll be in need of fashion 'blood' transfusions ourselves

Tony Curtis, iconic American actor, is also a world-class painter. His works have sold all over the globe, and he is in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art. He is licensing for the very first time, and his art is available for categories like home textile, clothing, etc. Come see it at FameFarm.com. Thanks!
