True Life: I’m A Nail Polish Addict

rescuebeautyglitterpolishes.jpgIt’s true. I can’t stop myself. I love the feeling I get when I glance down and see a flash of cool on my digits.

Abby says she would call for an intervention except that she likes seeing what I show up with every day. (She also just told me about Rescue Beauty Lounge - who make this amazing glitter polish - I might have to go directly after work.)

Currently, I’m rocking a horizontal-striped double-Essie combo (Aruba Blue topped with Bermuda Shorts). I live for the Sally Hansen nail pens, and fully see some lightning bolts in my nail future. I also love vertical stripes and painting each nail a different color.

And I will forever maintain that being the person who comes up with the names of nail polishes is undeniably the most amazing job ever. Reading the label on the bottom of a nail polish bottle brings me endless joy.

Are you as obsessed as I am? What is your go-to nail hue?

OPI's "you don't know jacques" for the fall/winter.
For spring i'm still looking for the perfect forest green or teal hue

Light pink always, because if your nails chip then it's not as noticeable.

Equally as obsessed, yes maam. Even more so now because my nails are so tragically stained yellow-ish....and yes, I've tried everything to get the stains out....so I just keep them "painted" now.
ONLY nudes & neutrals & naturals in the summertime, for fingers and toes. Bright nails take away from other embellishments like jewelry and/or colorful clothes.
In the wintertime, inky blues and blood reds, and much shorter nails.
I was just about to start doing my digits now!

I am so obsessed too! My go to nail color is red, as it is always chic and I love the retro feel it gives me. As for now, I'm rocking bright neon pink.

My all time favorite nail color was a Cover Girl Nailslicks color called "denim". It's this wonderful metallic dark blue green. I haven't been able to find anything to replace it.

opi "i don't do dishes", it looks amazing and not old-lady-red, and, basically any chanel polish, especially anything in pink or the gold sparkly "kaleidascope". complements EVERY time wearing any of these.....

I think Bermuda Shorts may be the purple I've been searching for forever - not sparkly, not shimmery, not too dark and not pastel. Thanks for that.

Lately it's been all about the toes, and for that I love anything bright without any shimmer, or something incredibly over the top glittery/shiny/shimmery.

Anything by Zoya, they have no harmful chemicals and if you send your old polish they replace it with any color you pick! Their yellow is the best, it lasts forever and I get a million compliments on it. Sally Hansen nail pens are going on my shopping list.

Wow, Here I thought i was alone in my love of nail art... I am so glad to see that i am not!!! Although right now i am wearing Sally Hansons Night Flight! which is a Very dark blue that turns black in two coats i actually tend to wear a blood red called Seduction!!! The name says it all. i think that like a brand new lipstick in a color that youll probably wear nail polish is one of those little things that every lady or even a few gentlemen that i know buy to make a hard day feel a little farther past them and a night on the town having fun and relaxing just around the corner...
Nixil
So go on enjoy your inner fashionista and pull out your nail polishes find your color of the next few days let out your stress with a few tunes... you can either do this by your self or invite a few girls and that great guy who has fun doing his nails over, order a pizza, pop in a great movie, and have fun seeing what colors show up at your door! you might just find a new favorite color!!!

"Hey, get in LIME" is kinda tiffany box-ish. A bit more greeny. But soft and opague without any shimmer. I'm obsessssssed with this color. Very different. Lots of compliments from complete strangers and kin of the polish world.

I feel like I change my nail color obsessions so frequently it's hard to keep track but currently I am totally in love with Anna Sui's polishes because they are super sparkly and smell like roses. They also remind me of the 90's, Nirvana and 6th grade.

I used to spend a lot more time on my nails, and I used to love Hard Candy nail polishes. I still like to do a "french manicure" using bold colors, especially silver in place of the white. I miss Hard Candy. No other line has yet filled that hole in my heart.

So nice to know I'm one of many that "suffers" from this addiction! I have about 120 nail polishes and paint my fingernails twice a week on average. My obsession started in 7th grade with Hard Candy. I ordered them straight off the number in "Sassy" magazine which then went to Dineh Mohajer's office phone and took over 8 weeks to arrive! Since I don't like to repeat colors often, my collection has grown to mammoth proportions. I love neons for spring/summer and anything almost black for fall/winter. Just painted with Essie's "Flirty Fuchsia" last night and it may just be my favorite summer bright. Love Chanel's "Vendetta" for when I go dark. Okay, I'll admit it, I love and would own any color other than yellow or orange unless anyone has a recommendation that doesn't resemble highlighter.
