The Great Pants Debate

bcbgcoralbodysuit.jpgLots of people around here are very anti-pants these days. Many of you disagree, so let the discussion continue!

We present you with a very direct “to pants or not to pants” challenge.

This fabulous draped bodysuit from BCBG (on sale right now for about $59) has the potential to go either way. It is a super chic coral color, and we love the exaggerated draping of the silhouette, and the bow detail in back.

We plan on pairing our bodysuit with a high-waisted skirt and the fact that we won’t have to constantly re-tuck our shirt has us way excited.

Are you brave enough to go Gaga and wear yours sans bottoms?

in the city???? NO. i really hope nobody does. please people of new york, i beg of you, don't forget your bottoms.
However, a Nikki Beach party is an entirely different thing; in that case this bodysuit is perfect as is.

I'd love to wear no pants, but I live in Morelia, Mexico. No one would do that.. and I'm afraid I'll be the only one. The other bad thing is that all ugly men stare... :(

i can't imagine anyone brave enough to let their nearly-uncovered ladyparts touch public seating (mass transit, park benches, restaurant booths and chairs, auditorium seats...), let alone withstand the incredibly high degree of back-of-the-leg-stick that must occur when rising from said seating. i seriously don't understand how literally not wearing pants can be anything but an editorial/beach trend.

oh. can someone share this with me - how do you go potty in this? do you girls undress completely? or stretch the bottom to the side? or is there any other way? I remember in my ballet days it was my biggest fear - having to go while in a body suite.

Well back in the day when Donna Karan was doing a lot of bodysuits - they had snaps for ease of use in the bathrooms

This is getting ridiculous. When did it become okay to go out in public without pants?

Pants please! I would never subject the world to staring at my thighs bouncing down a busy street. I wouldn't subject myself to that humiliation.

Dear lord no! Just say no to the pants less look. Unless you're wearing a skirt.

As my Dad used to say, "If someone can see the outline of your private parts through your clothes, it's not fit to wear outside the house. Go change."

Just because Lady GaGa goes pantsless doesn't mean you have to. Especially if you don't have the figure for it. It could very well end badly.

To tell you the truth, I dont understand this look at all... There is always a limit for everything! How would you be able to express yourself & your fashion sense without existent bottom like a pant, skirt, etc. This is just does not do it for me! I like draped look but something slim like a pencil skirt. If Lady GaGa can pull it off, it does not mean everybody can. Who would be able to wear this to dinner or even a party. It a useless piece of clothing in my point of view, its only usable in the runway world. KatyaUK

#14 love the quote from the pops..However I have to say I too am totally in love with the pantless look. I'm pretty sure for me it comes from years of ballet classes, and the fact that I wasn't all that great has left me with a huge amount of dancer envy.

And when people keep on saying "not everyone can pull this off" well yeah...that's true of most trends. Not everyone can pull off exaggerated shoulders, not everyone can pull off leggings, whatever...We all have different bodies that are flattered or not flattered by different things.

Ugh. Seriously...? Lady Gaga is NOT someone I'd use as an arbiter of fashion.

The only place that something this ridiculous belongs on is a stage. During the concert you're singing at. AND you're Lady Gaga.

Please...don't torture the rest of humanity by thinking that this is some style you should wear out in public. It's not a swimming suit so that's not a viable argument. Sitting down on public ANYTHING with one's butt hanging out..nasty. Ick. Ick. Ick.

I would do this look but only under certain conditions...
1) I would have to attend the gym on a regular basis to maintain pantless adequate legs and buttocks. There's some work involved in this look!
2) All creepy men be locked up.
3) All seating surfaces were disinfected regularly, perhaps after each "use".

I think I've got the butt for the pantsless look, but not the bravery. :)
