And bloggers take one more step up the fashion food chain.
Holt Renfrew, the Canadian department store, will pay tribute to a handful of fashion’s most famous online personalities including The Sartorialist‘s Scott Schuman, BryanBoy and Jak & Jil‘s Tommy Ton in their new window displays.
Creative director John Gerhardt’s orchestrated the entire thing without any input from the bloggers themselves – just inspiration from their sites and their voice. So we’re guessing layered prep a la Band of Outsiders with a bright scarf for Scott (and a bike of course), an explosion of Balmain and Givenchy for Tommy and just something major for BryanBoy.
We can’t wait to see the windows come Friday (because someone will send us pictures, right?) and we probably would buy anything straight out of one of Scott or Tommy’s gorgeous images, but we can’t help but wish Gerhardt had actually enlisted the bloggers’ help with the project.

I don’t get the appeal of BB’s blog. He seems like a nice enough person but the blog is awful, for lack of a better word.
I like Bryan’s blog because you become emotionally involved in it, similar to the way you become connected with a character in a novel. It’s a blog about a life that revolves around fashion, rather than just a blog whose writers have to work 9-5 Monday to Friday, and sometimes have questionable motives..
yay, i was getting tired of the Dita von Teese inspired windows and all the tinsel.
I wonder why they didn’t ask the bloggers to take part in this though? especially Tommy, since he lives here.
I would be feeling very awkward right now if I were one of those bloggers mentioned.
I’ll probably get totally annihilated for asking, but will there be a Tavi one? Now THAT would be creepy.
Nobody beats Jak&Jil, period.

A Garance window would be nice.
I love Jak & Jill. I dont like Bryan Boy. He is a one snobby boy who begs for attention.
It’s great that Bloggers are getting their day in the sun, or the window, in this case. So what if it’s a sham poseur like Brian Boy or Scott Schuman, who is great even if he is a bit too self important and precious. It’s all good.
