A Color Revelation

macjinsoonhandswithpolish.jpgSo I know that many of you were annoyed with me when I told you about the nail polish collaboration between MAC and manicurist Jin Soon Choi without showing you the colors.

But now we can finally give you a look at Nail Trend F/W ‘09, which is available starting August 27th.

My favorite switches every time I try a new shade. Though right now, I’m rather partial to the khaki green. But as I said before, what I like the most is that they actually feel new.

Which one do you like best?

They are all made for cool skin tones, not cool, being an orange-red not crimson myself. Also, the last one is pretty tight but the purples look very geriatric to me!

are these formaldehyde free? dbp free? don't use these if they aren't. you are killing yourself slowly. it may take twenty years for you to realize this though...

I do love the colors, but I have a question. I hate to be a buzzkill, but I used to work for MAC, and my fellow artists and I would lament over the short life of polishes, i.e. chipping on the first day. Once in a great while, usually with the cream finishes, they would hold up. So, have you noticed that they wear well, Abby? If not, I guess it just gives one an excuse to put the next color on! :)

Oh, and #6, I believe they are free of both of those ingredients, if I remember correctly. MAC is pretty good with that sort of thing.

Guest #7: They actually do wear really well! My pedi lasted almost 3 weeks. And were I not someone who has the bad habit of picking off my polish, I'm sure my manis would have lasted much longer than they did.

#7: I painted my nails in Peppermint Patty from MAC a few days ago and no chips as of yet, but I guess it remains to be seen how they really hold up. I'm excited for this collab, but I hope the formula is a bit improved. If you use too little, it's very sheer and streaky but if you use too much, it's incredibly gloppy. I don't get it. But I love a lot of MAC's colors so I put up with it :) I love that khaki green, as you said, and the last color. I love "weird" colors on my nails instead of the typical red or pink.

I'm obsessed with Khaki right now. Sula has a peel off Khaki that I love called Moss and then when I saw this one I was just dying. I can't wait to try it out!
