Oh how we wish we were in Paris to see these couture confections in person. But we’ll just have to settle for the internet with most of the rest of the world.
The first pictures we’re seeing look as delish as we expect from Mr. Galliano (showing at Dior’s famed headquarters on avenue Montaigne)
We can’t wait to see the collection in its entirety but already we’re liking the various states of dress (and undress, especially sans pants). And of course the hats.

I love it as a runway show! I wouldn’t wear any of those looks, but they’re gorgeous and witty, combining the classic Dior New Look (and even retro makeup and styling) from the waist up, and then the pantsless, sheer & peekaboo stuff on the bottom. It will be interesting to see how it translates into real life, or celebs wearing these looks on the red carpet.

About the collection, I was completely underwhelmed. A couple nice pieces, but I felt like I was looking at Dior ready-to-wear. More of a “haute” mess rather than haute couture if you ask me. I’ve always been a fan of the completely over the top Dior couture of season’s past. Better luck in January I guess.
