Down To There Hair

vladahairshotChanel.jpgI have been obsessing about growing out my hair since I got a choppy cut (avec bangs) in February.

It’s not that the cut was bad, but I know better than to have a style that requires a lot of maintenance (read: blowing it dry)…not gonna happen. I’ve even taken to popping daily pre-natal vitamins for no reason other than making my hair grow faster.

As if I needed another reason to want my super long locks, along comes the Chanel couture show with its extra lengthy ponytails and pompadours.

I’ve never seen hair pieces - especially ones of different shades on the same head - used so beautifully. Some of the extensions even looked to be fashioned as the famous Chanel camellias which is such a subtly cool touch of house history.

Obviously, this isn’t the kind of look you can create at home, but I am once again seeing some possible extensions in my future because the ponytail I’m sporting today now feels desperately inadequate.

meh, to each his own. No hair will ever be cuter than Amelie's.

i can't believe you're taking pre-natal vitamins to grow your hair abby! that's dedication.

Girl I know how you feel! I have been dying to have goddess lenghth (below the bust) for so long! I haven't had a true cut in over a year and I still have 4-5 inches to go. Massaging almond or coconut oil on your scalp helps your hair grow as well.

i love my hair long, however the lack of volume that inevitably comes with hair reaching the waist length (unless your hair is curly) - not so much.

My hair is long I guess, it about reaches the bottom of my bust. I like it, but at the same time it can be kind of annoying. I have thick wavy/curly hair (depending on how it's feeling that day) and it can be really heavy and annoying when it's in a pony or bun. And it always falls out when I'm at the gym. Still, I'm too scared to ever cut it short. I've always had long hair.

#3, I've used coconut oil too and now I'm using olive oil.

Also, I have a morning routine of combing front to back 100 times to stimulate the scalp.

I am curious to know if the prenatal vitamins actually are working.

This is funny because I am on the other side. I have pin-straight hair that is just below my bust. It has NO wave and isn't the thickest in the world. I wear it up all the time because otherwise it just sort of hangs there. I am dying to have an Amelie style bob but I am not sure if I can maintain it. What should I do?!

Hmm... is this Chanel collection reminding anyone of Olivier Theyskens for Nina Ricci with the long/short thing?

Abby, you're the best love! Oh btw. Try Marlyn hair pills. They work wonders, as does combing your hair (like Rashomon said) and olive oil is also amazing for hair growth. Try a hot oil treatment.

For long hair inspiration Abby, see the Silk Spectre's (Malin Akerman) hair in Watchmen. I didn't really dig the movie but her waist-length hair was mesmerizing.
