Fall Beauty Inspiration #1
By Abby Gardner Tuesday, Jul 28, 2009 / 5:01 PM
I can’t believe it’s almost August. But it is. And that means that Fashion Week will be here before I know it, so it’s time for me to start thinking about how I want to transition my look.
All summer, I’ve stayed pretty true to the coral lip and lined eyes that I fell in love with when I saw Kate Moss’ Topshop shoot.
(By the way, thanks to all of you who recommended MAC’s Lady Danger in the comments on that post. I’m already on my second tube.)
And now, I think I’ve found my first new look for fall thanks to Diane Kruger at the Inglourious Basterds premiere earlier today in Berlin.
The eyes are subtly smoky, but not overly made-up. The matte red lip seems like a natural move from the coral days of summer. And I am dying over the hair. It’s so simple but the visible bobby pins (while not a new concept) look really simple and fresh – perfect for my still-growing out bangs. Though I’m going to have to do something to mimic Diane’s gorgeous texture. (I’m considering the Brazilian keratin treatment just to smooth my hair in general. Let me know if any of you have tried it because I would love to hear first-hand if you liked it.)
Any other fall hair and makeup looks you’ve been checking out lately?

Does anyone know of a good matte red lip stain? I’ve been using Vincent Longo’s Americana lipstain, which I love, but I’d also like something less glossy and a bit more sheer.
i’ve tried the keratin treatment. worked like a charm for the first 2 weeks….. but then my hair just went back to its thick waviness. i’ve been told thats unusual though – it’s supposed to last 3-4 months. (my hair’s always been really strong and resilient)
I´m Brazilian and I´ve seen my friends doing that treatment with great results.
If you have the opportunity to go to Rio, try Crystal Hair Salon in Ipanema.
Wow! Diane looks amazing, as usual. She is so gorgeous.
mpw, Giorgio Armani Lip Wax in #5 (Cardinal Red) is really pretty. Somewhere in between a lippie and a stain and it’s sheer.
I swear by Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella. It’s a chunky pencil with somewhat the same texture as a lipliner. It doesn’t budge or bleed and you really only have to reapply a few times a night, and it’s very matte.

My cousin just had the Brazilian Keratin treatment done and it looks great! She has really wavy, thick hair and the treatment made her hair look extremely so shiny and healthy. Not to mention super straight!

I just bought Armour Beauty lip gloss in edie and baracuda. I am officially obsessed. The colors are amazing and stay on literally all night. Not to mention they are environmentally friendly and cruelty free. You can get them on there website http://armourbeauty.com/
