The memorial service for the King of Pop is about to get under way. And until we did our morning read of WWD, we hadn’t even thought about how it would affect LA’s fashion industry, which happens to operate basically right around the corner.

I used to work in the Cooper Building in downtown Los Angeles and anytime there was a bit of a protest (or big ones like those on immigration) it turns into quite the traffic mess down there. So here’s hoping all those uber-fans don’t hinder your work day too much.

So what will the Jackson family be wearing today?

InStyle.com is reporting that Janet, LaToya and Michael’s kids will be donning Versace. Janet apparently called Donatella herself and made the request since Michael was such a huge fan of Gianni.

We feel like we’ve already said what we needed to on our childhood pop favorite, but there’s sure to be a lot of great music (and style) coming out of the Staples Center this afternoon. So if you’re watching, enjoy.
