Vogue UK has just reported that YSL’s Stefano Pilati will be making an appearance at LFW - in his role as Creative Director for the label Veryta.
The line is actually designed by fashion illustrator Tanya Ling and uses fabrics by Pilati BFF Filipo Binaghi. The Vogue eds say that the collection is incredibly easy to wear and romantic and filled with separates you just want to touch. Unfortunately there aren’t any preview pictures available.
It’s unclear exactly how big a hand Stefano had in guiding Tanya’s designs, but it sounds like they had a lovely old time.
“I love working with Stefano,” she said. “He’s an outright big important creative director, but he’s the most approachable, loveable and affable person you could meet.”
We’d pretty much give our right arm to work with Stefano on just about anything. And just when we thought we couldn’t love him more, we read that 10% of the profits from Veryta go to a foundation he set up with Filipo to alleviate poverty in India.
The collection will be unveiled at Claridges during LFW. We will most certainly be there.
UPDATE: According to a spokesperson for Tanya Ling, Pilati’s role at the company is that of mentor. She is the Creative Director. And 10% of sales, but 50% of profits go to charity

Stefano has tremendous swagger. I feel about him the way I felt about Helmut Lang in the 90s.
I died when he used Marc Newson in one of the campaigns.
He finally got his whole left arm done but it didn't include M&Ms or Spongebob like another designer we all know.
