Streetwalker: Another Stylish Salesgirl

purple soled streetwalker.jpgAlison, 23, salesgirl

Got Her: Working at Amarcord Vintage (best store ever!) in Williamsburg.

Stalked Her: Well, actually, we were taking a shopping break…

Shot Her: It was the purple heels and the neon nails.

She Said: “I try to dress down so people pay more attention to the clothes in the store than to what I’m wearing. But I do love accessories! They’re an easy way to add spark to my outfits.”

We Say: Sparks are flying.

I like that she's balancing a very simple outfit with bright shoes, but there's something a little off about this. The mini with purple heels is looking a teeeeny bit cheap -- either lengthen the skirt a few inches or get a cute pair of flats.

All the times I've seen Alison, she always look like she can put stuff together effortlessly.

Good job shopgirl.

are we really holding up a ratty t-shirt and skirt from american apparel and some tacky urban outfitters shoes as style? if so, fashionista has its work cut out photographing all the "stylish" young ladies williamsburg has to offer.

i have a feeling fashionista "stalkers" have a chipped-toenail-polish fetish.

otherwise i love the bright heel with a bright polish but i must agree the skirt might be a bit too short for this combo.

Seriously?
Yet another Streetwalker post of a girl in a forgettable outfit. Yes, the girl is cute, but her outfit is nothing memorable.

I'm starting to wonder if the girls behind Fashionista have any fashion sense....

Just wanted to say that people are some haters. I've realized that the way a picture is taken can sometime really affect the way people perceive an outfit. If this picture was taken Sartorialist-like in the middle of a cobble-stone street, people would be drooling all over it.

I think she's a beautiful girl, and her outfit (especially her purple shoes) are extremely unique. Well done!

On a related note, I've always found the staff to be VERY snotty at that shop.

That's not true #9, Alison and Kate are very nice.

Sometimes being young, smart and cute can come off as snotty to others.

Doesn't anyone do their own thrift shopping anymore? Amarcord is overpriced clothes for lazy/over privileged people... Try Red, White & Blue.

To #10, I know plenty of young, smart and very cute girls and they aren't like that. People who are perceived as snotty have something in their attitude, demeanor what have you that gives off that energy and impression.

On a more related note, this girl isn't anything special. It's basic and don't get me wrong...basic can be amazing. But she's...sloppy boring basic?

I really like her purple heels, but not sure how I feel about it together with the teal nail polish...

Nothing special. Definitely agree that the skirt could be longer, and I don't find the cut of the shirt and choker necklace very flattering. I do very much like the idea of the shoes, though not necessarily with chipped teal nail polish...

There are a number of disturbing things with this Streetwalker, or at least with what she is wearing...

My god you people love beating up on others. I think she looks cute! Those purple heels really pop. Is it remarkable? Not particularly . . . but something tells me none of you look particularly remarkable either.

I like her shoes. She's cute, but this look isn't inspirational. I think the street walker posts should be more inspiring than this.

i think, the worst thing you can do is try to dress nice and go on public with nail polish half gone. is that what we call style nowadays?

#16 - No, it isn't remarkable, but shouldn't that be the point of streetwalker? To find people that DO look remarkable? I agree with #21.

I've never seen such a pack of people revel in being so harsh on others. Ahh the brave anonymity of the internet. Maybe fashionista should punch it up a bit, with picking who's style to showcase but there's no sense in ripping this girl to shreds because you feel this way. And did anyone read the part where she said she dresses so people will pay more attention to items in the store instead of what she's wearing? Guess not.
