The Gray Lady

62709Monotone_44Web[1].jpgMr. Schuman is across the pond, shooting around France and Italy, and we’re in l-o-v-e with this all-gray Parisian he posted yesterday.

We’ve been noticing a lot gray around the streets of New York ourselves, and think it’s a great color. For us, light gray, light brown and white are very summery - exuding calm and relaxing vibes. But we’ve never seen it put together head-to-toe quite as well as this woman did it.

A monotone ensemble requires careful planning. Not all shades of the same color look good together. And unless you buy all the different pieces at the same time, it could get difficult to mentally match your shades.

We imagine it wouldn’t be too hard if gray is your color, but what about green? Wearing four different hues of that could venture dangerously into crazy elementary school art teacher territory.

Which colors would you wear head to toe in an outfit (and black doesn’t count)? And if you were to streamline your closet to only one color, which would it be?

I think I'll have to say gray. I started giving the color gray more attention like a year ago or slightly more and I saw how it looked good on me so when I was browsing for clothes I'd always lean to gray so after a while I had a lot of gray's and black in my wardrobe. I haven't tried the head-to-toe gray ensemble, I'm a bit scared of it I think. This woman on the picture has a great skintone and haircolor to pull of an all gray ensemble so me, with very pale skin and red hair? I don't know. Maybe your right, maybe it's just all about the right shades.

@Erin, #8

The title is the same as a nickname for The New York Times. I haven't read Harry Potter, though. Perhaps it's also from there.

Alright collegiate, the nail polish is Jesse's Girl - whatever kind of brand that is. i got it at something like duane reade for what i believe was about 4 bucks.
remember - 3 layers otherwise the color is not gunpowdery enough ;)

enjoy.
