Ugly Betty's Diet Coke

uglybettydietcokebottles.jpgStylist Patricia Field has created another custom Diet Coke bottle, currently available at Selfridges in England. This time the inspiration was Ugly Betty.

Now Ugly Betty hasn’t been much of a buzzworthy show of late, but perhaps that is not the case overseas. ABC almost pulled the plug on it this spring, so the timing seems a bit odd.

Also the bottle, wow is it not so cute. It’s a pink leopard-ish print. And guess what? It comes with stickers that you can put on your bottle…or maybe your notebook.

What you weren’t dying for a Betty poncho sticker for your computer monitor?

Other Diet Coke collaborations, even Field’s City Collection, made a lot more sense and didn’t seem to target such a young audience. Really, this just seems like a waste of everyone’s time and money.

for the record- Patricia Field's line that was in Macy's a while back was so effin hideous... It's unreal to me how awful and tacky that line was.

So, I'm not surprised at how ridiculously cheesy this is as well.

Also, it's 9:03 commenter #1- chill out

As a Betty fan I hope this isn't the last season.

As for Patricia Field, the collaborations actually remind me of Miuccia Prada's quote about keeping things separate. There are some great artists who are horrible songwriters, amazing music producers who are terrible DJs. Fashion's a big umbrella, and while it's nice to see people branch out sometimes being really incredible at one aspect is enough.

#2 - My statement wasn't in response to lack of stories. I realize it's 9:03 which is why I dont understand this story about a tacky coke can and a show nobody watches. This is what we're starting the day off with?

I think Patricia Fields is wack.I have never seen her line, only a bit of styling after SATC(costuming)but for some reason I just do. There I said it.Sorry Pat. That Coke thing is dumb and should never have been sanctioned by whatever desperate Madman thought it was a good idea.I guess Pat could be right,us gals are just dying to collect 'em all,especially pink glitter bottles.Reminds me of the Baby Spice stylings around the early '90's.Hello, Kitty.
