Would You Wear a Huge Nose Ring?

irisvp6[1].jpgIris Strubegger is rocking a lot of gaudy glitz for August’s French Vogue, but the one bling that really stood out for us was her septum piercing (we’re assuming it’s faux…)

We’ve always been into the traditional nose ring, but not so much one that resembles what bulls wear in their snouts. Okay, the one Iris is wearing is purposefully over the top. Tasha Tilberg wore her more subdued version for i-D ’s June/July issue.

Allergy issues aside (spring pollen being the reason we’ve never gone for a nose ring), would you put a ring through your septum? Tasha does look kind of badass with the tinier hoop, but we think we’d just look silly.

My sister has her septum pierced, she wears a tiny ring w/out a ball in the middle. Very discreet and cute.

I think septum's are badass. I wanted one for 2 years and had to settle for no..It's still on my mind though, but I have to wait til i move out.

Scarlett Johansson had hers pierced. it looked cute, but you definitely have to be discreet with a septum piercing.

Probably not. Definitely reminds me of one of those rings that cows have...

I pierced mine with a safety pin as a high school graduation present to myself.

That was stupid but it got me tons of girls in college.

yuck. that's my view on piercings at large. especially septum. it looks stupid on just about everyone, in my humble opinion. except for bulls. those i just feel sorry for.
it might be silly but piercing is just as big of a turnoff for me as smoking.

I agree #6, that's why I don't have any piercings anymore.

But I wish I can find that Jil Sander ad where it just showed the model's face with a small sparkly septum hoop.

I had a nose stud and now I have my septum pierced. Do I think it looks cute on the model? No, but I like how it looks on me (better than the one on the id cover, imo)

I'm not a "scenester", just a 30-something professional, but I sometimes wear a very thin, very tiny silver non-pierced septum ring now and then when I'm out to a party or out to dinner with my husband. It's just barely big enough to wrap around my septum, and the wire is so thin that it's actually very discrete, almost invisible. I use the very small silver hoops called ear wraps made by Harry Mason in San Francisco. It's discrete, it's pretty and I think it's kind of sexy.
