Doutzens editorial had an interesting story to tell and Natalia's hasn't.

Doutzens is better done imo, better clothes and has an edge about it. Natalia's seems a little easy after seeing Doutzens, although both eds are relly good.

The ed w/ Natalia is nowhere near as good as the one from W.... but it's hard to beleive this is going to be a US Vogue ed... There has to be a stiffly posed scissor kick in there somewhere.

That's pretty fishy business...I still love both spreads though. Check out my blog at allthingsvogue.blogspot.com

It's finally happening people - the times are so rough that Vogue of all places is using recycled ideas from one of it's fellow magazines, W. Madness!

I'm flabbergasted!!! I can't believe this. What's happened to Vogue...it's just sad.

I think that you did this in a very confusing way. The way you posted it makes it look like the top pictures were one spread, and the bottom were another, when in actuality the 2 shots of Doutzen are from W's 2007 spread and then the 2 from Natalia are from Vogue's 2009 spread. Then by having the writing say shots on the left or right only furthers the confusion, I feel, since I am assuming you mean the shot on the left/right of each pairing, when it actually reads as the pairings as a whole.

Distinguishing which pictures are from which spreads obviously changes everything, and actually makes the Doutzen shots look boring since their is little to no change in facial expression between the pictures.

I love that people are beginning to voice their opinions and criticisms about Vogue. That magazine is elitist, unimaginative, uninteresting, and honestly...it reads as more of a Lifestyle magazine that uses fashion as a backdrop.

Oh dang, I completely forgot about that editorial! Still fantastic.

The Vogue situation is so frustrating, though! I really want to like it. Hell, I want to LOVE it, but they keep on doing shit like this, and that awful Jeniffer Aniston cover, and Annie Leibowitz' overly photoshopped blah fests. I miss the days of Alice and Wonderland editorials!
