As the week winds down, I usually drift around to my various shopping sites. Just now I landed over on Shopbop and saw a bunch of Native American-inspired jewelry by Jacquie Aiche.
It drew me in with its color and the bracelet’s pretty cute. My style tends toward the hippie and the granola and the Adirondacks on a regular basis. But I’m not so sure about these earrings. And the headband is just over the top to me.
Plus I have no idea if there’s any sort of authenticity to the pieces (doubting there is) which makes me hesitant about the bracelet too.
What do you think? Fun arts and crafts or way way too much?

See…this is my constant dilemma. I am Pakistani-American, with olive skin, oval face, dark, stick straight hair, and dark eyes…and when I wear this stuff, honestly, it looks like I’m dressed up for thanksgiving.
But…more power to anyone else that wants to rock it.
Major yes to the bracelet, no thanks to everything else. What makes the bracelet is the white binding.

Seriously? What person in their right mind would dropp $44 on a headband that looks like I made it at summer camp? I mean really.
I owned a bracelet just like that. I was five. I’m with #7 on this one. Seems like New York adults have a penchant for things that were cool for non-New York primary school kids. I don’t get it. I mean, is this for real, or would you be wearing it to be funny?
I think it all looks cheap. Kids make that is pre-school.

For sure i think the bracelet is cute, you could definitely mix it up with some other bracelets to make it look less “crafty”…
I was just thinking that it would be nice to have Aboriginal influenced fashion. You don’t see enough of it and I think it would be really nice to see, especially since I live in Canada.

Alrighty then…so nobody went and looked the gal up. She’s actually 1/2 American Indian and her stuff is made in the US or India. The bead stuff is way different than her “real” work and I suspect actually is deadstock from a 70′s or 80′s Indian souvenir shop(made in US). I too made a loomed headband…it took along time and didn’t look very good. I like the bracelet,it’s cute.Beads are back, why not enjoy them before we hate them again.haha.
I think the jewelry is cute. My personal taste would not include any of it, but it is perfect for adding a pop of color to some otherwise monotone outfits. “X” the headband, unless you are twelve or are actually part of a tribe. Otherwise, go for it!
