While we’ve spent a bit of time over the past couple of weeks discussing some of our seemingly stagnant print titles and how we wish they would take some time to revamp, we’re happy to hear that websites aren’t all standing still.
This morning we read that our beloved Target is going to undertake what sounds to be a pretty massive overhaul of its site, currently run under the Amazon umbrella.
They want to brand the site and modernize its functions. We say, awesome. Not that the site is terrible, but it could certainly use a boost from the agency that creates Target’s creative ad campaigns. And any time a site becomes easier to maneuver, we think it’s a very good thing.
Especially since those of us who don’t live near a Target rely on it to bring us our designer collaborations. Apparently the project won’t be completed until 2011 which again indicates some intense changes, but we’re guessing you’ll start seeing a roll-out of new features way sooner than that. Hopefully in time for the rush on Rodarte.
Alice Temperley has also just redesigned her site to include e-commerce, as well as behind-the-scenes dish about the collection, Alice’s favorite things, and styling tips. Plus, there are going to be bunches of promotional giveaways.
Any other sites you think need an upgrade?
