Monique Lhuillier's presentation at Christie's in Rockefeller Plaza was nothing if not incredibly luxe and rich. But not in the least bit stuffy thanks to tons of texture and unexpected colors, like the gorge mustard and dusty red. There was fringe with rope detailing and serious use of sequins, paillettes and crystals, especially on one super intricate party dress, my personal favorite. The long gowns were pretty darn impressive too, many styled with a more casual fedora. (Apparently, Monique and I have similar taste in hats as pretty much that exact same one has been all but glued to my head all summer.) Oooh, and I was obsessing over yet another animal print trench too. I wish I had that on last night while carousing all over Soho at the bangin' FNO. Now if only a handsome young gentleman caller would invite me somewhere that I could rock one of those fringe or beaded numbers, I'd be all set. Well, as long as a friendly Starworks publicist hooked me up with a loaner, that is.
