Confession: I had no clue who Marcus Constable was. But the people from Liberty have been so sweet, and I liked the idea of spending a minute in their cozy, old-fashioned department store instead of Topshop's underground garage, so I headed up Regent Street to see Constable's presentation and knew I'd been missing something good when I walked in behind Stefano Tonchi. According to the show notes, Constable's last collection, and this one, are Liberty exclusives. He's been inspired by Aubrey Beardsley's drawings and men's tailoring from the 1800's. But really I just saw stripes, menswear done in feminine fabrics and solid tailoring which means I liked it. A lot.
