From time to time we sit around with the editors from our sibling sites Above the Law, Dealbreaker, and Going Concern to share ideas about what our readers are into and how different types of stories might translate across our various industries. One thing, it seems, that their readers can't get enough of is information about salaries--which really makes sense. It's helpful knowledge to have when you're looking for a job or trying to negotiate a raise. Plus it's just plain interesting. And in our industry, we know these numbers vary so very much. Having the same number of years of experience in a similar position does not always guarantee a certain salary level.

Where do they gather all this juicy info? From the readers themselves. Of course it's sensitive information, but it is constantly flowing in. So I'm throwing out the idea of a little salary survey here at Fashionista. What we're looking for (and of course this will remain entirely anonymous) is a job title (obviously we don't have to know your company as that could give things away), what city you work in, years of experience, and what you're currently making. Like Junior Buyer, Luxury Boutique, $XX,000. Email your info to tips@fashionista.com (subject line: "Salary Survey"), and we'll start bringing you this sort of news you can use.
