“No one wants to see curvy women. You’ve got fat mothers with their bags of chips sitting in front of the television and saying that thin models are ugly.” —Karl Lagerfeld’s reaction to the news that Brigitte will no longer use ‘real’ models in their magazine.

Karl was once fat too and for quite some time. He needs to stop the madness- we love Chanel but Karl, you fail. Personally and professionally.

Karl,
Quit being such a taste-monger. BTW, I was into Marc Newson even before you were thin. I bet when you find out he has a vintage orange Lamborghini, it's going to be the next color you're "mad for it".

what a tool he is.
one would think he was Adonis from the way he speaks and then you look at him and it's like... Really? you are a hobbit, Karl - let the curvy ppl be.

and yet people will still treat him as a god, put him on pedastal and worship the ground he walks on. even though time and time again he's proved how immature and hateful he really is. and he's no great designer, if you look close you will see that chanel is the same thing every year, with just slight variations.

Everyone knows that KL had a gastric band. he was not only eating chips in front of the TV but the entire MacDonalds Menu. He was so fat pre-surgery, that even his fingers were fat. I remember the fat used to roll over his skull rings. he is a truly disgusting, hypocritical individual who has been more operated on that Donatella and should stick his fat-ism where the sun dont shine.

Karl, it's okay! Eat a donut, eat two. We won't hate you if you do. Cute poem eh?

Sometimes I love Karl to pieces, but sometimes someone needs to tell that blousy, bitter old queen to STFD and STFU.

Don't even get me started on this topic!
There is no way of knowing just by looking at someone who is stick-thin whether she is any more or any less health (i.e. heart health, cholesterol, etc.) than a "curvy" woman. I think it is all BS. Look at this African country Mauritania (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/3429903.stm) where they force feed girls to make them bigger. No difference except that it is the other extreme. Though Karl put it in a harsh way (and he made me laugh) he was somewhat true. It always the unhealthy, overweight people I hear putting in their two cents on health and body image yet never seem to take their own advice.
The world is made up of "real women" who are skinny too and just can't seem to gain weight even if they stuff their face. Women come in all shapes and I think it is still discriminating to only focus on this whole notion of "real women have curves" nonsense because it is not true. Real women have curves, stick figures, androgynous bodies, athletic bodies, fit bodies, the list goes on. Really people... step outside yourself and look around you.
Health, not body type is what it most important. Yes Karl was fat but if you have looked at his diet he eats extremely healthy now.
And one last thing, when they aren't photoshoped, models are real women too, they weren't created in a lab. They are humans just like all of us. Modeling is a JOB done by real men and women, they aren't a different race of people.

Amen, #21.
Karl puts things in a way that is controversial, but people..take one second and look at how we just throw the word "curvy" around. It's not used to describe women with curves. It's used to describe women who just don't give a damn about their body, the women who over eat and are overweight.
Don't fall prey to thinking that just because you have boobs and a butt that you are curvy. If you have a large stomach over your jeans too, then you're not healthy. We've got to do better. Just saying Karl is a douche does not help when he actually does have a point.

Karl is so talented, but his attitude towards health and body image really makes me sick.
