John Galliano let slip that Karlie Kloss is his girl for Spring 2010.
She won’t front Galliano (whose ads never appear stateside), but Dior. The designer launched his eponymous “timepiece range” in Paris last night and told WWD he’d been very busy casting the spring campaign.
But really, how hard can it be to cast the girl who’s cast in everything?
This season, Karlie’s in ads for ChloĆ©, Uniqlo, Marc Jacobs’ Lola, Lacoste, Pringle of Scotland and Sportmax. She’s also holding down editorials in almost every single magazine, including a grand total of four in this month’s Vogue alone. So Dior’s probably just the start of her spring rounds which makes one wonder a) when she goes to school and b) how it’s possible to be over a girl before she’s eighteen.

Karlie deserves all the praise and attention she gets. She is extremely savy and after her seeing up close and how she interacts with people, this girl is smart. She remembers names, she greets everyone and whether she is actually as sweet as she comes off or is sincere, that is besides the point because this industry is full of egos and people just want to be acknowledged. She’s in it for the long run.

i like karlie, but vogue needs to calm down! no more of this four edit thing, unless they are gonna grow a pair and make it an all karlie issue, complete with cover!
This is a huge deal for Karlie. There’s a big, big difference between having a lot of little campaigns and fronting one of the major luxury houses. This is confirmation of what’s become apparent in the last six months: that Karlie is not going anywhere. Kudos to her, as others have said she is super-professional and very savvy about her career.
If theres really actually going to be a “return of the supermodel” anytime soon, it is going to be Karlie.
It’s really annoying to hear this website say you are ‘over’ a girl when you usually bemoan the fact that there are no girls who last over a season. Karlie could be the girl who has 1 foot in the commercial door, and 1 foot in the editorials. The last girl who did this well was Gisele, who was in her late teens when she dominated Vogue. Karlie is a great American model, seems really professional, and the photographers like her. She also doesn’t complain about the job. So many girls complain, and you just want to tell them to stop working.
I really don’t like Karlie’s look, but she’s quite popular, so this is no surprise. She seems to be doing less of that glowering with forehead down thing. I’d prefer a brunette in Dior. Biased, I guess.
I LOVE Karlie, and to answer your question, I believe she goes to Webster Groves High School in St. Louis County.
I adore Karlie. She’s can be the girl next door but turn into this sex kitten the next minute! She’s so versatile and a SUPERmodel…not to mention she’s VERY YOUNG! She’s getting the attention and recognization she deserves. I hope to see her in Vogue Paris someday…and to be featured as the seule model in Vogue!!!
guest 9, she’s been in VP lots of times.
i couldn’t be happier for her. she’s my favorite model and she’s finally getting the jobs she deserves. haters can hate but there’s no denying that this girl is going places in the fashion industry. this is her season, her moment, her year. and i can bet it’s just going to get even better.
