Online with Alexander Wang

wangresortshoe2.jpgThis fall Alexander Wang’s website did a bit of a soft launch. Much like with everything else the designer does right now, the people wanted more. And come November 1st, they shall receive.

There will be way more e-commerce—so put a sticky note on your computer monitor if you want to get your hands on the latest batch of Rocco Mini Duffels or any of the resort shoes which we’ve got a little preview of. Also on the way is lots of web exclusive merchandise, T by Alexander Wang, and behind-the-scenes videos which are guaranteed to be fun given the lively Wang sensibility.

No guarantees on how long supplies will last but at least you’ve got another venue to go after all the Wang a girl, or boy, could want.

I still don't understand why Wang started doing ecommerce...it seems a bit greedy. The brand is already insanely profitable with tons of accounts, why alienate the store owners who support you?

i don't think its greedy for him to do ecommerce, what about all the people who don't live in big cities and want themselves some wang? people who appreciate the experience of trying things on and seeing things in person will still go to the stores. he is just branching out and growing... nothing wrong with a little bit of success.
