StreetWalker: Compare and Contrast

Kaitlin,19, Student

Got Her: Shopping at the Juicy Couture/Teen Vogue Fashion University Party.

Stalked Her: Because in a sea of over-accessorized youth her subtle mix of classic and punk caught our eye.

Shot Her: Because she took simple pieces and combined them perfectly. And the lacing on the back of her blazer is detailing perfection. Not to mention we’re suckers for Doc Martens.

She Said: “I like to dress in contradictions that mesh together.”

We said: The student becomes the teacher.

For some reason I like all of the pieces individually but together, not so much. Cute girl though.

It’s nice that she aimed for a more professional (but still spunky) appearance for the event—I can only imagine what some girls showed up in—but..it’s teen vogue! Swap that dark shirt out for a sailor top with thick bold stripes, lose the black tights in favor of wooly ll bean socks, push the sleeves of that blazer to your elbow and add an armful of neon/studded/gold/stringy/chunky/whatever bangles. Ta-da TV-ready.
