We really would rather not remember a time when IMDB did not exist. Those were the days of racking your brain with some actor’s name just on the tip of your tongue, only to end up super frustrated when you couldn’t come up with. Now you can just look it up on your phone.
Now, we’re finally getting a similarly comprehensive database for the fashion industry in the form of MyFDB.com. While searching for models’ credits was made so much easier by the good people at Models.com, this database will log credits for everyone from photographers to stylists to hair and makeup to creative directors, set designers, and food stylists.
The site was created by Keith Britton, a former model who saw a need for a more standardized and consistent crediting system in the industry. We say, hell yes to that! All of the information is verified by their research team, though you’re totally free to submit your own work. And you can roll over various credits to view the actual campaign or editorial.
Unlike IMDB, the site is subscription based, but we signed up for the free trial to check it out and have to say that it looks as if it’s going to be worth the money for lots of people.
