Quote of the Day

“If a YSL Tribute boot dropped acid at Woodstock and got knocked up by a cowboy boot, then maybe their offspring would look something like this.” — Seventeen-year-old Jane Aldridge describes her new vintage boots on her blog, Sea of Shoes.

And there are people who actually such a blog? Sorry Jane, maybe you'd be more at home writing about who kissed who in your diary like the child you are.... and it sounds like the boot attempting to be described is rather ugly if you ask me.....

I didn't mind the boots that much. They're weird and quirky, so okay, whatevs.

I HATED that fur she was wearing.

I mean, the girl is 17. Can we put an age limit on the heel height women are wearing? Can one at least be 18 before they start wearing 5 inch heels?
So disconcerting to see a kid in "F**k Me shoes."
That's right: Anything going above 4 in. falls into that category.

Even though I don't always love what she is wearing, Jane has fun with fashion. Which is a lot more than I can say about a lot of the people on this site.

Who DOESN'T love Jane?! She might make some fashion missteps but she's a TEENAGER, it happens. What she isn't lacking, is swag.

I absolutely hate the phrase that no. 4 used. Some creepy person said it to me the other day and now I'll never be able to wear my beautiful Proenza Schouler shoes without thinking about it. (Before anyone calls me elitist or spoiled, I got them used on ebay for $46) Shoes do not invite sexual harassment, nor does wearing them excuse it. Jane should be able to wear whatever shoes she wants (and she certainly does).

Wow, a little harsh dont you think? I am also not always a fan of what she wears but she obviously knows what she is doing. She's a great writer and is heading in the right direction. So what if her heals are above four inches? Yeah, she's only seventeen but what does it matter? I didn't know there was an age requirement for heels.

Hmm this appears so affected - obviously. I mean what does she know about Woodstock and 'dropping acid' at 17? Apart from what she's seen in movies and on television.

I don't get the adulation and fanaticism surrounding these young bloggers - I think they're vapid. And yes, I'm terribly jealous of her, and a member of the party police.
