Ungaro on Ungaro

Wednesday, Nov 11, 2009 / 10:19 AM

lindsay lohan ungaro speaks.jpgThe whole world weighed in on Lindsay Lohan and Estrella Archs’ SS10 collection for Ungaro.
Except Emanuel Ungaro himself. The founder’s kept quiet since he sold the house in 2004, but yesterday, at a film festival outside of Lisbon, he was quite blunt, “Lindsay Lohan’s collaboration was a disaster.”
“I am furious but I can’t do anything about it,” he told the Independent, adding that his vision “is in the process of losing its soul…That happens to a lot of designers. We were the creators and patrons, responsible for the creation and destiny of our houses. But when we gave up our houses, we gave up our souls.”
We can’t imagine the man ever coming to terms with heart pasties stamped with his name, but as the outcry over the collection settles down (or had until now), we wonder what happens next? If no one buys the collection, stores or customers, how long does it take until CEO Mounir Moufarrige gives up?
More importantly, if another Ungaro collection sees the light of day while Luella doesn’t, we predict a massive fashion temper tantrum.

To all the foolish Ungaro supporters who thought this collection was “not that bad” and “store friendly” HA!

FINALLY!!! a statement from Ungaro himself. This must break his heart because it broke mine! the collection was HORRIFYING and should NEVER ever be associate with the house or ANY real fashion houses at ALL! LL is tragic and has ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE of style nor fashion, so HOW can they POSSIBLY allow her to “design”!?!!?? outrageous! Sad to say, but I hope this collection DOESN’T get picked up by a store and DOESN’T SELL because it is a total disgrace to the name.

Shocking. Really.

what a moron…what was he thinking anyway.even my cat saw that coming!!! i know what esteban cortazar is sayin: i told you so!!!

Ungaro is crying over spilled milk. His name sake label will go in history as another Piere Cardin and Guy Laroche.

#2, even though some of her outfits do border Jerseyz-bridge-n-tunnel-chic, i do like some of her “looks”

Ouch. Bitch slapped by the man himself.

Ouch, Linds. Your swag just went down the drain. Luella MUST come back!

I agree Rash – Lindsay has her own distinct style that is actually quite good and chic – but when you mix that with pills and buckets of cocaine you get the disaster (used in every review!) that was the S/S 2010 collection.

I cannot believe that photo. I saw some pretty terrible photos of her from that night, but this one legitimately scares me.

About Ungaro…there used to be suits with this name on them…?
What happened to the male fashion line?

i just re-read this article and…

“when we gave up our houses, we gave up our souls.”

ouch :(
