Unless you’re Scrooge, December makes you feel as charitable as it does cold (on the outside).
In order to assuage both problems, Weatherproof and New York Cares have partnered for a new holiday initiative, Coats for Clunkers.
New York Cares annual coat drive starts December 14th in the Amtrak Rotunda of Penn Station. You can donate your gently worn coats from 7:30 am to 9:30 am for three days only, after which Weatherproof will give you a $100 gift card to put towards a new winter coat on their website, CoatsforClunkers, which’ll be up when the drive starts.
On top of that, they’re donating 6,000 coats to New York cares which will then be distributed to the homeless. So even if you are Scrooge, there’s something selfish in it for you.
