If Daphne Guinness became the face of a brand, or when Daphne Guinness became the face of a brand, Akris is probably the last name that’d come to mind.
But she is, pictured here in their spring campaign.
Officially, she’s the face of their new handbag collection which launches in February, when the ads hit magazines. The Ai bag’s shown here with Daphne, but all of them are made from exclusive horsehair.
Steven Klein shot the campaign, his fifteenth for the brand over a twenty year partnership that started in 1990 with Stella Tennant.
Desinger Albert Kriemler says of Daphne, “she emanates a sense of mystery and aristocracy.” We’d have added, “and couture.”

would someone more knowledgeable explain why exactly is akris the last one that would come to mind?
from what i see i would certainly place akris above many other brands?
she wears mcqueen, walks for giles etc. so the simplicity of akris isn’t exactly what DG’s famous for.
bet britt could’ve told you that if you’d asked nicely.
is it that hard to read the original article? it’s shot by steven KLEIN. akris always is. hence the twenty year partnership you so eloquently misattributed to meisel.
honestly. check your facts.
i was writing this and lara stone for LV at the same time & made a mistake. it’s fixed now. sorry to give you a mid-morning heart attack
Someone please explain something to me. This photo for the Akris campaign is great. These photos are also great. All were shot by Klein. So….did he just not feel like finding a new concept for the Akris shots?
