“It’s the choice of a new supermodel,” says Antoine Arnault about Lara Stone in WWD this morning.
The rumors are true, they usually are, and the Dutch almost-supermodel stars in the brand’s spring campaign.
Steven Meisel shot the blurry image at left, of Lara lounging in a garden of Vuitton delights built inside a New York City studio. There are six ads in total, starring both classic monogram bags and runway pieces complete with furry tails.
The grass and the doves and the ferns are supposed to give off a “fresh, summery, whimsical, young and optimistic” vibe which sounds great, but we’re afraid that even behind the blur, she just looks dirty.

sooo much better than last season’s madonna disaster..
Yay for Lara! It’s nice to see a model I love and respect have the commercial and artistic success she does. I miss the old days when Stam was the IT girl though. What happened?
like lara, like meisel, but i still hate this collection. its like if american apparel tried to do high fashion.
She appears to be lying in a gutter after being beaten and tossed there by a group of angry unemployed proletariats who were sickened by the fact that the cost of her chic ensemble = their yearly salary.
