‘Tis the Season: I can’t say that I miss putting together gift guides like I used to do in my magazine days. They’re a serious undertaking to organize and shoot. But I still love looking at well-edited ones like this. I mean, rainbow Thomas Pink collar bones–what’s not to love. {The Moment}
Gems from Zahm: Any headline that reads “Sex is life. Professional pornography is just capitalism” is automatically going to draw us in–especially when it comes from the mouth of Purple‘s Olivier Zahm. {Gawker}
Belle of the Ball: After a few quick pics the other day, Jane Aldridge has put up a bunch more from her trip to Paris for the Crillon Ball. Doesn’t it look like this may be the happiest day in her mother’s life, wedding and childbirth included? {Sea of Shoes}
Rumors Prove True: And no we’re not talking about Tiger Woods, though we are fairly obsessed with the whole scandale. Nope, it’s the Target and Liberty ones. The pairing is real and official and coming in March. {Vogue UK}
Stream of Consciousness: Today Another mag launched a “Reader” section on its site that flows in posts from all their favorite blogs. We hope we make the list soon. {Another Mag}
Angelic Gifts: In case you’re not all Victoria Secret-ed out after last night, here’s one last backstage video where the girls let us in on perfect holiday gifts. While Selita’s feeling charitable, we’re not gonna lie and say we didn’t agree with Behati or kinda wish we were Eniko’s mom. {Nylon}

The Crillon ball looks awesome, and Jane’s mom and sister look great. I love Jane’s makeup and jewelry. However… that dress. It looks like a nice dress someone stapled a tablecloth to. Custom Chanel or no custom Chanel, the dress must die.
Ah, Baby G watches! I still have my white one…circa the Silverchair days. Might have to bust it out

Don’t want to be a comment whore but here’s Olivier with Carmen styled by my crush of the moment, Emmanuelle

What does Sea of Shoes Dad do to afford this kind of lifestyle? Who are these ppl? (Aside from the blog and ‘vintage clothing store owners’)
guest 5, he is a lawyer, and not even a huge one. i have no idea how they spend on the level they do (judging by what i see on the blog i’d guess sea of shoes/mom could be spending $50k or more on clothing annually)…not to be catty but it wouldn’t surprise me to hear down the line that they’re in crazy credit card debt
I find it so interesting to hear what other people think about Sea of Shoes. I sort of enjoy looking at it once in a while, sometimes the photos are nice, but I like it more because it is fascinating in the “who are these people?” kind of way as someone said. I also think it is a bit odd that the comments section was taken down.
Usually I have no time for the hobbies of the rich (read: extravagant debutante balls) but these photos melted even MY icy heart. Her mother! So adorable!!
#7 – She took down the comments section after receiving A LOT of heat for her comments regarding the closing of Luella. I guess it was too much for her to handle. Sad girl.
I actually agree with the reason Jane offered on taking down the comment section: It is a blog doesn’t require feedback. She reads it enough to know there are two basic types of comments (The “Ooh, I love everything about you. and the “You vapid bitch, do you go to school, where do you get money, do you smoke?” commenter).
She does not respond, so why have it? If you like looking at shoes and vintage clothing on a 17 year old, look at her site. Just give her a break, she is really still learning.
